THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

1
God save our gracious Queen,
long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen.
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen.

2
Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
to sing with heart and voice
God save the Queen!

PRAYERS – and Act of Repentance
Leader:
Let us acknowledge before God the sin that leads to conflict and war:
Said together:
Almighty God, we confess that disobedience to your perfect will
For your world has caused division and conflict. Forgive us, we
Pray, and lead us in the ways of peace and justice, now and always.
Amen

GOD’S PROMISE OF FORGIVENESS
Leader:
May the God of peace, forgive us our sins and grant us the power of his Holy Spirit to live according to his holy will.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

THE LORDS PRAYER

HYMN:
1
Praise to the Lord, the almighty, the King of creation
O my soul, praise him, for he is thy health and salvation:
come ye who hear, brothers and sisters draw near,
praise him in glad adoration.

2
Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
shelters thee under his wings,yea, so gently sustaineth:
Hast thou not seen all that is needful hath been granted in what he ordaineth.

3
Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work, and defend thee;
surely his goodness and mercy here daily attend thee:
ponder anew all the almighty can do,
he who with love doth befriend thee.

4
Praise to the Lord, who, when  tempests their warfare are waging,
who, when the elements around thee are raging.
Biddeth them cease, turneth their fury to peace,
whirlwinds and waters assuaging.

5
Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath come now with praises before him!
Let the ‘ Amen’ sound from his people again:
gladly for ay we adore him.

Amen

THE LESSON

HYMN:

1
I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love:
The love that asks no question,
the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best:
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

2
And there’s another country, I’ve heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her,
most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is  suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness
and all her paths are peace.

Amen

PRAYERS

During the singing of the following hymn a collection will be taken
for the Earl Haig’s Poppy Day Fund.

HYMN:

1
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm doth bind the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

2
O Saviour, Whose almighty word
The winds and waves submissive heard,
Who walkedst on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep:
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

3
O Sacred Spirit, Who didst brood
Upon the waters dark and rude,
And bid their angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace:
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

4
O Trinity of love and power,
Our brethren shield in danger’s hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe’er they go:
And ever let there rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Amen
